Regional Weather: Lower Southeast

Active weather Monday; fair on Tuesday. The stalled front over FL is drifting southeast. High pressure lies along the eastern Seaboard. Another day of showers or storms for the FL peninsula today will be followed by a dry day on Tuesday. Highs in the 70s and 80s, lows from the 40s to 60s.

OUTLOOK:

Overview: Epidemic spread likely in southern FL again today. Monday's transport events move slowly near the source areas. Washout of any airborne spores is likely over southern FL. The event moves to the southwest / west late, but this is over open water and rainfall today will have cleansed the air. Tuesday's events track southwest and west into the Gulf. Unfavorable conditions are expected for Tuesday's transport events.

Risk prediction map for Day 1: Monday, April 22

HIGH Risk for cucurbits in southern FL. Minimal Risk otherwise.

OUTLOOK:

Overview: Epidemic spread likely in southern FL, possible farther north. Transport events move north and northeast today under mixed conditions. Better chance of rain toward central FL. Mixed conditions are expected again on Saturday. Events move near or just north of the source initially, then southwest and west. Events track west or WNW on Sunday, when conditions will be favorable for epidemic spread. Potential should be confined to the southern peninsula, given the behavior of the events.
